The Characters
Henry: Henry is a mental health worker in his twenties who hasn't burnt out yet. He is still trying to improve, taking night courses in abnormal psychology in his spare time. He has a fairly simple, predictable life that consists of work, hanging out with his best friend and roommate Eliot, and pining over his ex-girlfriend, Lisa.
Katrina: Katrina is a very troubled girl in her mid twenties who has endured more than most people should have to: an abusive, mentally ill brother who molested and threatened her, as well as the death of her parents. Alone in a large city, she is hanging on by a thread -- one that snaps when she sees (or does she?) her brother at a local supermarket.
Cole: Mysterious and enigmatic, Cole is older and more sophisticated than the others. He thrives on the different, the new -- anything that will provoke arousal and stimulation. He sees in Henry someone with the potential for adventuring who is letting that part die out.
Eliot: Second fiddle to Henry in both the plot and the play, Eliot cheerfully works at McDonalds, ogles women while unsuccessfully trying to pick them up, and stumbles through life without managing to take anything too seriously.
Rose: Tense, quiet, and subservient while with Cole, Rose can only give veiled, incoherent warnings when alone. Is she crazy? Or does she know things the others are not privvy to?
